According to the Pantone Color Institute, the colors we should be wearing to be hip appeal to a “vibrant, romantic ideal.” The names are intriguing, even exotic, but the colors are familiar nonetheless. They include:
- Bamboo (mustardy yellow)
- Emberglow (orange family)
- Honeysuckle (color of the year 2011-pink family)
- Deep teal (deep turquoise family)
- Cedar (olive green family)
- Phlox (purple family)
- Coffee liqueur (brown family)
- Nougat (tan family)
- Orchid hush (purple gray family)
- Quarry (gray blue family)
This link and this one will take you to a short articles with great photos of how to combine these colors in your wardrobe. Chances are, you already have some of these hanging in your closet so check it out for a great visual from the fashion world!
Hi Diantha – have just finished re-decorating bedroom, and used several of these colors – pinkish peach, (or peachy pink?) on the walls & there are shades of the mustard, persimmon (a bit of a departure for me), cedar, & deep turquoise in the bedding. It turned out so pretty. H-m-m-m, I think I’m impressed with myself! : – )
Well why not! Sounds GORGEOUS! Thanks for sharing! xo
Diantha, I am so glad to see you blogging again. I have missed you! I love this post because I was actually wondering this very thing the other day. I want to spruce up my fall workshop wardrobe and wasn’t sure which route to go. 🙂
And I am thrilled you will be joining us a “Guest Mentor” for “Creating a Life of Contentment.” For you to share your wisdom with us in April in our month dedicated to “The Holiness of Home” will be simply wonderful. I am blogging again too, this time a “Countdown to Contentment” at AwakenedLiving.com. Perhaps you will join me there on occasion. And your lovely readers/clients are welcome there too. We can all use a little more contentment, yes?
Love to you this day! Blessings, Jan
Oh yes, Jan. More contentment for sure. Your class will be just what we all need! Thanks for checking in! I am looking forward to April! xo
