Quotes to Start the New Year

Anyone who knows me knows I love quotes. I enjoy finding them and basking in their wisdom so here are a few to start 2018 off well. Enjoy!

“Many of these people worked hard at jobs that no one else wanted and were poorly paid, I was sure. But it seemed to me that there was something resilient in their spirit, some essential quality that kept the music and the dancing and the color alive…..And I thought, as I had so many times before, that what’s important to a human being, any human being, isn’t the wealth that comes from money, but the richness that comes from community, a sense of connectedness to family and to friends and …. to the spirit of the Great Mystery that runs through all creation.” from Sulfur Springs by William Kent Krueger

“Love conquers all.” Virgil

“Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can?” Sun Tzu, The Art of War

“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.” Albert Einstein

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” –Michael Jordan

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover” –Mark Twain

“Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.” –Charles Swindoll

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” –Steve Jobs

“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions. “–Stephen Covey

“You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.” –Christopher Columbus

Happy New Year!

According to Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment, just two indications that a transformation is taking place within you toward a higher consciousness.

spirit and inspiration

The first symptom is that you stop worrying. Things don’t bother you anymore. You become light-hearted and full of joy. The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities. And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the miraculous.

–Deepak Chopra, Synchrodestiny

As you all know I love quotes. I find wisdom and inspiration in short quotes from just about everyone. When I read the quote above, I was stunned – this is what my life has become: light-hearted, full of joy and full of synchronicities. The old days of feeling burdened, in a maze, energies blocked have given way to a life that is described by Dr. Chopra.

When did it happen? There was not one defining moment but certainly in the last few years I became aware of how synchronous my life has become, and a bubbling up of happy energy kept sweeping away anything that was not in alignment with that energy.

The great teachers out there tell us that we know we are in alignment with our soul’s purpose when synchronicities happen and joy appears lasting. I have known that for years, but I have not “known” it the way I do now. Today synchronicity and joy fill every cell of my being.

I feel so blessed. But it has been hard-won. I have had to work through a lot of emotional life challenges. I still have physical challenges to move through, but they seem much more light-hearted and less important than before.

I am in a place of feeling completely cared for by our Source, that Oneness of the Universe who resides in each of us. I trust that if something bad happens, I will be given guidance and just the right people to help me through.

I decided to write about synchronicity this post since that condition seems to be happening more and more to more and more of us. That parking space that appears just when we need it; the right person shows up in our life to help us with a problem; the right inspiration comes to solve a challenge; we just happen to run into a person we have been wanting to see. This is happening more frequently as the energies here on the planet shift and change.

So I just wanted to help make you aware of the wonderful shifts happening amidst all the dreadful news. If we can focus on the upliftment that is happening rather than the negative downside of life, we can all experience the joy and miracle of synchronicities in our lives. That will make us all happier and allow us to release more and more of the negativity we have been dragging around all these years.

I’m all for it! Anyone else care to join in?
