Hibiscus Beauties

For those of you who know me or have followed me for a while you know how much I love nature.  As we go about our days, often we are surrounded by the miracles and beauty of nature that sometimes get overlooked in our hurry to attend to the details of our lives.  That is only human, but some days, I thankfully remember to slow down enough to drink in the beauty around me.

Last month as I was cooking in the kitchen, and not particularly being happy about it as I recall, I looked out the window and saw the most fabulous miracles right outside.  We have two huge hibiscus bushes, one red, one pink, that the previous owner had planted.  They display huge blossoms that are so intricate and lovely and here I was, going about my day, cooking away and missing their showy beauty!  So I turned off the stove, got my camera, and went outside to truly examine the hibiscus and drink in their miraculous structure and colors.  As I was about to go back outside, a little squirrel was at the bottom of the bushes eating a blossom that was so delicate. He had his little paws on either side of the blossom and was munching away. I watched him eat it until he saw me and ran back under the bushes to hide but what a cute sight that was!  I felt so blessed at that point.  So blessed to be surrounded by so many miracles granted by nature.

Here are a few of the photos I took that day….Hope you enjoy them!
