Here we are again, in the month of December, awaiting the magic of Christmas and other December holidays. In the spirit of giving, I am going to share with you some of my favorite quotes, photos and web links. I am also sending you a link to a meditation series you might enjoy by my dear friend and colleague, Ellen Epstein. I’ve been doing her meditations since April and my life is so much more centered and relaxed. I highly encourage you to give it a try. There is no cost to this and yet it is a priceless practice.

My hope is that this newsletter inspire you and encourage you in spite of all that is happening all around us. Remember to breathe, to love, to forgive, to care for others and yourself. May God’s blessings abound in all of your lives.

Merry Christmas!

I loved this photo article on “perfect bodies” through history. As a person who has never been content with the body I was given, this hit home for me. Bullseye!

And this article about the craziness in women’s clothing sizes:

Quotes: One for each day in December

This first group of quotes is by Rumi, one of my favorite sources of quotes:

“The wound is the place where light enters you.”

“Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world, today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

“What you seek is seeking you.”

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

” If you find me not within you, you will never find me. For I have been with you, from the beginning of time.”

“Love is the bridge between you and everything.”

“If you are irritated by every rub, how will you be polished?”

“The Universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself, everything that you want you already are.”

Og Mandino:

“I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because It shows me the stars.”

“Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don’t waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.” ~ Og Mandino

“Your talent is God’s gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God.”  Leo Buscaglia

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”  Leo Buscaglia

“Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” Buddha

“I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends.” Abraham Lincoln

“Don’t live the same year 75 times and call it a life.” Robin Sharma

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Ghandi

“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” Earl Nightengale

” We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” Albert Einstein

“Whover is careless with the truth in small matters canot be trusted with important matters.” Albert Einstein

“Without the test there is no testimony.” Charlene from The Source

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love

“Until we have seen someone’s darkness, we don’t really know who they are. Until we have forgiven someone’s darkness, we don’t really know what love is.”
― Marianne Williamson

“Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.”
― Marianne Williamson

“The practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to the healing of the world.”
― Marianne Williamson

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” Harriet Tubman

“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” Maya Angelou

“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” Maya Angelou

“Being tolerant does not mean that I share another one’s belief. But it does mean that I acknowledge another one’s right to believe, and obey, his own conscience.” ~ Viktor E. Frankl

“Our greatest human freedom is that, despite whatever our physical situation is in life, WE ARE ALWAYS FREE TO CHOOSE OUR THOUGHTS!” ~ Viktor E. Frankl

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
― William W. Purkey

“Be yourself; everyone else is taken.” Oscar Wilde

The origin of St. Nicholas: Today, December 6, is the feast day of St. Nicholas! I love that he acted anonymously, giving gifts to the needy and executing his acts of love and redemption, seeking nothing in exchange. We could all learn from this man. John Von Achen….inspiring video
